Saturday, May 29th, was our first annual Faces of Freedom Rally. We learned so much from this day that I've gone over it all in my head and can sum it up with 1) how grateful I am to be a part of this community and 2) with the lessons learned, we can only get better and give more to our Heroes.
Starting with the workers who put their entire heart and soul into making sure this was an honorable event to stand before America's Heroes and say Thank You with a sincere heart. That alone made the first Faces of Freedom Rally a 150% success! It was such a privilege to work side by side with you.
As said in one of the several emails I received, "The speakers were on target, and the music was wonderful." Our speakers were absolutely on target. David Doctorian taught me about people and facts I had no idea about being a part of the founding of this great nation. It was an honor to have this great Patriot in our presence. Cathy Cochran brought us back around to Who was the first to make the greatest sacrifice of life, our Lord Jesus Christ. She might be small in stature but she's one of God's most Mighty Warriors! Vern Bastian gave powerful definition to Honor and Respect for our Veterans, Active Duty and Fallen Heroes from the very depths of his heart. His passion for all he represents became a part of every heart in those stands. And our Prayer Warriors, Dan Bode and Kevin Blew, opened and closed this event putting it all in perspective of Who's day this truly was.
This is the day that the Lord has made,
Let us rejoice & be glad in it.
To our Veterans who came, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming out and allowing us to lift you up, give honor to all you've given of your life for the United States of America and We The People. Those of you who wore your uniforms and hats, you stole my heart! I pray that you left there with the confidence in knowing without any doubt that your community appreciates the piece of your life you sacrificed for us. You ARE America's royalty!
To the Families of the Fallen, over and over in my head I have filled that void that came after the playing of Taps. The loss of your loved one will never EVER be forgotten, they are the ultimate valiant Heroes of America. I am forever grateful for the price they paid for my freedom and as long as I have breath I will continue to honor & recognize them.
Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
I picked up a pamphlet some one left laying around the concession area. On it was this quote:
"We can't all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb
and clap as they go by."
Neither my husband nor myself have served in the Military, we are the people who stood on the curb and clapped. On this day my husband, Jace Weber, picked up the gauntlet and went beyond the full mile to make sure the purpose and intent of this event went forward with honor and dignity. Jace Weber, you are my heart, you are my Civilian Hero. I.Love.You.
The National Anthem from the voice of an angel and the heart of a great lady!
The Nelson Kids & Friends stole the show!
So many emails how you blessed everyone there.
"Whatever you do in word or deed, do all as unto the Lord Jesus." Colossians 3:17
You, Sir, did us, your fellow Veterans and your Lord proud.
I Love & Appreciate You.
And finally, to those in the community who were hellbent on destroying this event with rumors and planting seed of doubt and fear... I truly don't understand what drives that desire to be a part of division in our community, and across this nation. I feel sorry for you that your obsession to destroy something good over powers your desire to be a part of something better, something productive toward peace, an opportunity to stand together and honor those who gave their all so that we are free to have differences of opinions and be deep rooted in our convictions. How sad for you that you truly just don't get it. This wasn't about politics, this wasn't about politicians, this wasn't about activism, this wasn't about you, this wasn't about me ... this was about American's standing together in one community to say, "Thank You," and giving just a little bit back to our Veterans and the families whose loved one's gave the ultimate price for us. Everyone was invited to participate in any way they wanted or were able. I'm sorry for you that the only thing you had to give was destructive and hurtful.
What satan intends for evil, our God will use for His Glory.
The first Faces of Freedom Rally was a tremendous success and we will be back next year to give our love, appreciation and honor to America's Heroes!
By the end of the week we'll have an album compiled from all the pictures & YouTubes sent to us over the weekend posted at www.FacesOfFreedomRally.com
