Speaking of Freedom:A Principled Approach, Part VI

Hello Again,

Today I want to consider the next principle in the Declaration, " secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

The proposition that government does not exist to perpetuate itself but to secure the inherent rights of the people, coupled with the notion that the people, not the king, are sovereign, was truly revolutionary. Taken together these represent the key to the amazing political success of America.

Today, these principles would seem to be all but forgotten. If freedom and prosperity are ever to be restored in America, we must rediscover and reapply them. We can help to make that happen by reminding/informing as many people as we can of these truths between now and election day.
